Orioles fall short in series opener

Their starter was hittable and their closer got hit hard. The Orioles led from the first inning until the ninth on Friday night, when Chicago's Ross Gload hit a grand slam off Chris Ray to give the White Sox a 6-4 win. Ray had only blown one save all season, and the Orioles had been 43-1 when leading after eight innings.
